POACHING IS NOT JUST A THIRD-WORLD PROBLEM
Ask any American today about poaching and they will answer Kenya or Africa in general, maybe illegal fishing, but mostly off some foreign shores. Many are surprised to hear that poaching exists in the United States - and at an alarming rate. Big Horn Sheep in Arizona. Big and small game in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Iowa. Illegal Oystering in Louisiana. Killing Bull Elk in Colorado and Montana. It goes on and on. In pretty much all 50 states you can find stories of illegal hunting and fishing.
The aviation industry is full of great people, doing great things.
We might not have coined that phrase, but until someone comes forward and does, we will keep saying it. Even during these uncertain times…maybe more true today than ever before.
Sure. People in the industry are hurting. Many have been furloughed or laid-off or "encouraged" to retire. Planes are being retired to the deserts of Arizona and California. They don’t go there to “retire”, they go there to die. A sad site indeed. The future is cloudy at best. The wizards of smart are claiming that 2020 is the worst year in aviation history.
Maybe, but maybe this is also the best moment in aviation history.
Every day, thousands of men and women wake up and go about their business. The business of protecting endangered species. The business of guarding threatened habitats. The business of ending illegal fishing. The business of holding the line against evil and ignorance.
